What problems do you help people with?

I am trained to provide psychological support for a range of difficulties, but I specialise in working with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression and low mood and trauma.

What age clients do you see?

I work with teenagers and adults. For younger children and families I would recommend rawcp.co.uk or thecoastalgroup.uk.

What happens at a first therapy session?

The first session is really a chance to get to know each other a little bit and decide on how best to take things forward. I understand that the first session can be daunting. I will do my best to put you at ease. I also offer free initial consultations for therapy (up to 15 minutes by telephone). This is to help you to decide if you would like to book an assessment session. Please contact me to arrange an initial consultation. If, following an initial consultation I do not feel I am the best service for you, I will endeavour to signpost you on to another service.

How many therapy appointments will I need?

This can vary depending on the difficulties you are experiencing and your goals for therapy. I tend to offer short to medium term work, but longer term therapy is also available. Typically, for short to medium term work, we would arrange 8-10 sessions before a review. However, this will be discussed as part of the initial assessment session.

How do I pay for therapy sessions?

Fees are payable either by BACS or card payment (in person or virtually). Sessions not attended, or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are charged at the full fee.

Are you registered with any health insurance companies?

Yes, I am registered with a large number of health insurance companies, including; AXA PPP, Cigna, WPA, Aviva, Vitality and Helix.

Is what we talk about in therapy private?

All sessions are confidential. The only exception to this is where I feel that there is a risk of harm to you or someone else. Please request a copy of my Terms and Conditions for further information.

Can you see me urgently?

I do not provide an emergency service. If you need urgent help please seek support from your GP, or out of hours you can contact 111 or attend your local A and E department.
