Therapy sessions are held at a comfortable therapy room in Lewes (click here for details of the rooms we rent for sessions).
At APS we use a range of different techniques and draw on a variety of psychological models and the scientific evidence base to inform psychological therapy. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic, Psychodynamic, Attachment and EMDR.
Therapy will always start with an 80 minute assessment session. During the assessment we will discuss with you the reasons you are seeking support and what your goals are for therapy. We would hope to develop a shared understanding of the difficulties and come up with a plan together for how best to move forward. We believe that whilst we might hold the psychological knowledge, people are the experts on themselves and so a collaborative approach works best.
At the end of the assessment session we would usually agree on a way of working and a number of therapy sessions and then review things after this. At this review if more sessions are required we would agree further sessions before a review, and continue in this way.
At the end of the first assessment session you are under no obligation to book any ongoing sessions. If we do not feel we are the best service to meet your needs we will endeavour to signpost you to a service that may be able to help.
We offer free initial phone consultations (up to 30 minutes) if you wish to discuss things prior to arranging a first appointment. Please contact us to arrange a time for this consultation.
Initial assessment sessions for therapy (80 mins) are priced at £130
Ongoing therapy sessions (50 minutes) are priced at £100 (day) and £110 (evening)
The prices above are for individuals who are privately funding. We are registered with many health insurance companies (see FAQ for the full list), and rates vary, please contact us for more information.
